Ivan Pictet becomes a member of the Board of Directors
During the Symbiotics' annual General Assembly held in Geneva in late June, Ivan Pictet was elected unanimously to become a member of the Board of Directors after having followed the company since its launch in 2005. Mr. Pictet is a former Senior Partner of Pictet & Cie, President of the Fondation Pictet pour le développement and President of the Fondation pour Genève.
From 1982, Ivan Pictet headed the Pictet bank's research and investment policy department, before being put in charge of investment operations. Ultimately, he went on to become Senior Partner with overall responsibility for the Group's strategy, a role he held until he retired in June 2010
Ivan Pictet is also active outside the banking sector, having served as President of the Geneva Chamber of Commerce and Industry for several years as well as being President of the Geneva Financial Center Foundation (Fondation Genève Place Financière). He was also a member of the Foundation Board of the World Economic Forum. He is currently President of the Fondation pour Genève, serves on the United Nations Pension Board in New York and is a member of the Advisory Board of the US-based Blackstone Private Equity Group and of the Global International Advisory Board of AEA Investors LP.
